Build a railway

Engines, wagons, track โ€” between real towns in the Rhineland.

You start with a single locomotive and a short piece of track and grow a network: connect stations, buy wagons, haul goods from town to town. Every line has to pay for itself.

The map is not an invented fantasy world: you run between real towns in the German Rhineland and the Bergisches Land โ€” from Leverkusen via Opladen to Cologne, Bonn, Dรผsseldorf, Duisburg, Solingen or Bergisch Gladbach. Every town produces what it is actually known for.

This is the biggest game in the arcade. The largest sums move here, and it takes the longest before anything stands. Patient planning beats quick buying.

๐Ÿ’ถ It is all play money โ€” you never need real eurosThis arcade is completely free. Every amount in the games is play money: bank account, loans, rent, profits โ€” all part of the game. There is nothing to buy, you cannot pay anything in, and there is no connection whatsoever to real money.

Real towns in the Rhineland

Twelve stations, and not one of them is made up. Leverkusen is your home base, next door sits Leverkusen-Opladen with its old railway repair works, where maintenance is cheaper โ€” just as the place deserves. From there you reach Cologne, Bonn, Dรผsseldorf, Neuss, Dormagen, Duisburg, Wuppertal, Solingen, Remscheid and Bergisch Gladbach.

And each town ships what it really stands for: Duisburg, Europeโ€™s largest inland port, sends steel, coal and timber; Solingen, the city of blades, its tools; Bergisch Gladbach paper; the chemical parks in Leverkusen and Dormagen their chemicals; Neuss gravel and grain from its Rhine harbour.

Building your own line pays off

At first you run single jobs between existing stations. Once you have built your own line it gets interesting: on your own track you earn far more per run because no fees are deducted. Building costs a lot and takes time.

Trains that run themselves

A single dispatched train earns money but needs your attention. A scheduled train runs its route again and again on its own โ€” that is the point where the railway earns while you sleep.

Freight from the other games

Every delivery between players in the market hall creates real freight. You can haul it and receive a small rebate on top of the normal fee.

Works on your phone

The map is built for tapping, no tiny buttons. Added to your home screen the arcade starts without a browser bar, and once loaded everything keeps working offline.

Frequently asked questions

Is the railway game free?

Completely. No paid content, no premium currency, no ads. It is a browser game โ€” you open a page and play.

Are the towns on the map real places?

Yes. All twelve stations sit in the German Rhineland and the Bergisches Land: Leverkusen and Leverkusen-Opladen, Cologne, Bonn, Dรผsseldorf, Neuss, Dormagen, Duisburg, Wuppertal, Solingen, Remscheid and Bergisch Gladbach. Each one produces and needs the goods it is known for in real life.

Do my trains keep running while I am offline?

Yes. Scheduled trains run their route on their own and everything is calculated when you return.

Is it worth building my own track?

Very much so โ€” no fees are deducted. But it costs a lot of money and time, which is the central decision of the game.

Do I need to know anything about railways?

No. There is a guide, and the game explains its own numbers.
