How to start

The arcade is a ladder: you start small, earn some money and later open the big businesses with what the small ones made. That is what the shared current account is for.

This page covers the first steps โ€” you do not need more than this to begin.

  1. 1. Your account starts at zero
  2. 2. Start with one of the three small businesses
  3. 3. Earn, then move it to your account
  4. 4. Later: clinic and railway works
  5. What if things go wrong?

1. Your account starts at zero

There is no money in your current account at the start. That is deliberate: just like in real life you begin with a bank loan. Apply for it on the home page under "Bank" โ€” the first 1,000 โ‚ฌ are especially cheap and approved instantly.

Your credit limit grows with your playing time. The longer you play, the more the bank trusts you with.

2. Start with one of the three small businesses

Several businesses are on offer, but only the small ones are affordable at the start โ€” not because anyone holds you back, but simply because opening one costs money. That is the ladder, cheapest first:

BusinessWhen?
๐Ÿ„ Farmright away
๐Ÿšš Haulageright away
๐Ÿจ Apartmentsright away
๐Ÿฅ Cliniclater
๐Ÿš‚ Railway workslater

What an opening costs today is shown on the home page โ€” that is the figure that counts.

How much you put in when opening is entirely up to you. There is no upper limit beyond what sits on your current account. Feel free to put in a bit more than the opening costs: after that, only 500 โ‚ฌ per 24 hours can follow from outside (see the next section).

So the 1,000 โ‚ฌ starter loan comfortably gets you into the farm, the haulage firm or the apartments. You may start several at once, but you do not have to.

3. Earn, then move it to your account

What a business earns stays inside that business at first. On the home page you move money from it to your current account โ€” that is your private account, and your cost of living is paid from it.

It works the other way round too: you can pay money from your account into a business to expand it. After the opening, every business has a rolling window for that โ€” at most 500 โ‚ฌ in per 24 hours and at most 500 โ‚ฌ out per 24 hours. The two directions count separately: paying in takes nothing away from what you can withdraw.

What a business earns itself is never limited โ€” the window only applies to the route through your current account. And the opening amount does not count towards it at all.

4. Later: clinic and railway works

The two big businesses are deliberately not for beginners. A clinic needs many times what a farm costs just for its licence, first doctor and start-up, a railway works considerably more. The exact amount is shown on the start page on every tile, itemised. You earn that money in the three small businesses and move it across through your current account.

That is the whole appeal: a 1,000 โ‚ฌ loan turns, over weeks, into a company that can afford a clinic.
